121 Business Start-up Advice Session
If you are intending to start a business why not book a meeting with one of our experienced Business Librarians to help you get off the starting blocks?
Who is it for?
This session is suitable for anyone who wants to start a business and needs advice and guidance on what they will need to do. It is for pre-start-ups and start-ups.
What does it cover?
We will help you consider the practical aspects of starting up, including the legal status of your business; raising finance; who you need to tell; intellectual property; and more.
We will advise you on researching your business idea to help you decide if it is viable, and offer advice on writing your business plan. We will also help you understand the City Business Library’s specialist information, including electronic and printed resources and relevant seminars.
How much will it cost me?
This session will cost you £20 per hour. Which is payable on registration. Your business advisor will be in touch within 48 hours of recieving payment to arrange the date for your one to one.
What happens next?
Once you have paid for your one to one, we will recieve a notification. A business librarian will contact you within 48 hours to arrange a mutually convenient time for you to come to the library.
Your one to one session will be planned for a week after your session to allow time for our business advisors to do some research for your business. This will help tailor the session better.
When booking you will prompted to answer the following questions:
1) What sort of business are you planning? (eg, photographer; gardener; caterer; accountant, etc.)
2) Where will your business be based? (eg, online, area and/or local authority)
3) What would you like help or support with? (business planning, marketing, finance)
